Cartoon Trompe L’Oeil
I’ve never let go of my inner child, and my friends know that I still watch and very much love cartoons (Boomerang is one of my favorite channels ever, I ♥ The Jetsons!) Imagine my reaction these hand-painted pieces by Karin Viktoria Bjurstrom:

The surreal and almost creepy portrayal of the collection is contextually appropriate; she sought to blur the lines between imagination and reality, and I think these items succeed. “Stitches” become highly pronounced as the defining borders of the items, truly giving one the sense of front and back, sleeve vs. torso. Buttons, bows, and trim also become exaggerated, delicate yet imposing, as is the nature of placing black on white. The art on each piece is completely two-dimensional yet the liveliness of the features have me convinced that the model belongs at Mickey Mouse’s side in Steamboat Willie.

Her concept is different and artistic. I don't think I ever let my childhood imagination go either. Nice art. have a groovy day
Now that is certainly very interesting. I think that design concept would look pretty cool on regular clothing….
These are awesome! xx
Very cool. It looks like Lichtenstein but then on clothing! Pop art gone black and white!

Whoa, that's spooky looking. But it's such a fun way to make a tribute for a cartoon. I always watch cartoons. I actually put them on in the background when I'm working on something.
Glad you're recovering from final presentations!
And oh my god, if you get any Jeffrey Campbell wedges, you must must must let me know!
